Celebrating a soft curve and a pastel Neapolitan ice cream tone

Taking inspiration from the owners Italian heritage, the house looks for cues from imagined lakeside gelaterias, celebrating a soft curve and a pastel Neapolitan ice cream tone. Hand dipped tiles, travertine, burred birch and glazed stone work surfaces link with walls of vanilla and cream. A striking cherry red staircase melts into the architecture.

The staircase was placed inside a new side extension, standing as a sculptural object in its own right in the vitrine of strict architecture.

The principal floor is lined by a long run of joinery that spans between the bedroom, dressing room and bathroom, becoming bedhead, dressing table and vanity.
