Shifting skies over the Thames

Seated above the River Thames at the Tate, the penthouse of this Richard Rogers’ building points towards St Pauls. The skies of London and the river below formed a starting point to consider the view from day to night, and the ever changing weather and light.
Facing the views in the sitting room, crescent moon sofas and a slate topped, incised table sit on a sunny rug. A double height library cabinet rises over the horizon behind it.
A particularly milky summer day above the Thames influenced the kitchen colouration – selecting materials that concentrated on reflectiveness, driftwood and burnished silver.
Repeating motifs of simple geometry and cosmic pattern run through the apartment linking this home in the heights with the sky above.
